1 died 40 goats killed by Thunder.
CHITRAL: As well as one man and 40 cattle died by thunder at Sheshi koh valley on a mountain spot. According to SHO police station Drosh Gul Habib son Mir Habib Khan resident of Sheshikoh valley was grazzing his cattle on a mountain spot during night night time. Suddently he and his cattle was hit by Thunder after rain and lighting and Gul Habib along with 40 goats died on the spot. His dead body was recovered by local volunteer and was shifted to nearby hospital but he has been expired and Doctor of Drosh hospital confirmed his death. While dead bodies of 40 cattle were also disposed off. President Legal Aid Forum for Human Rights Abdul Nasir has appeal to provincial as well as federal government for compensating teh beraved family of deceased Gul Habib as he lost his 40 cattle and his bereaved family faced great financial and human loss.
3 Died 8 injured in road side accident.
CHITRAL: Three persons died 4 injured in road mishap near Lawari top. according to Dir Police station a landcruiser vehicle as coming from Chitral to Dir carrying some passengers when it reached in a blind turn at Lawari top it was out of control fromthe driver due to over speed as a result the vehicle fell down in deep ravine as a result 3 persons were died on the spot. the injured persons were shifted to Dir, Temergara and Peshawar hospital for treatment where some of them are telling serious. Those who died in this fatal accident were identified ad Gul Rahim son of Toti Rahman resident of Chukyatan, Usama son of Waheed Gul of Kamargai Dir and Rahmat Said son of Gul Rahman residednt of Patrak Dir upper. Source told this scribe that one Aftab Ahmad of Drosh among the injured person was died on Friday.
The Most Unique Festival of Broghul would be held from 28 July this year.
CHITRAL: To attract tourists on world level and to promote Eco-tourism and uplifting economic conditions of Broghul valley and its inhabitants the most remote and backward area in North Chitral a 3 to 5 days Broghul festival would be lanched from July 28 this year. The three-day Boroghil Festival is being organized by Chianter Welfare Organization in collaboration with Pakistan Wetlands Programme.
The festival will feature local folk games and sport especially yak polo. Besides, traditional cuisine will also be displayed on the occasion.
The people of the area have been celebrating the event for the last about seven years on the ancient Silk Route in collaboration with some non-government organisations. The festival is held near the famous Kurumbar Lake and the 33-km-long Chiantar glacier.
The valley with its population of about 1,500 people shares its borders with Wakhan corridor of Afghanistan via Darwaza pass, with Hunza via Chilingi pass and is linked with Ishkoman valley through Sukhtarabad pass and Yasin valley through the Darkhot pass. The Kurumbar Lake, the source of the Yarkhoon river, links the area with the Pamir Plateau.
The area can truly be called the roof of the world due to its location in the middle of Pamir sliced among the borders of Afghanistan, Pakistan, Tajikistan and China.
