According to McClellan, Cheney Should Step Forward About CIA Leak

It was not long ago when former White House spokesman under the administration of United States President George W. Bush, Scott McClellan had released his bok called “What Happened: Inside the Bush White House and Washington’s Culture of Deception.” In the book, McClellan talks about how people such as Vice President Dick Cheney had misled him on the leaking of CIA agent, Valerie Plame.

Fall of last year, Plame released her own book called “Fair Game: My Life as a Spy, My Betrayal by the White House.”

McClellan was invited to testify before the House Judiciary Committee. Today, McClellan had pointed the finger at Cheney. He said that Cheney should give testimony before Congress about his role in the leaking of Plame’s identity. So far, the only one charged was “Scooter” Libby. But, Libby’s sentence was commuted to probation. And then Libby had his license to practice law in Washington DC revoked.

The vice president has information that has not been shared publicly,” McClellan said in response to a question asked by Democratic Representative Debbie Wasserman Schultz of Florida. He also gave out names such as Karl Rove and Ari Fleischer.

He adds that it could not be ruled out that Cheney ordered Libby to leak out the information. Also, he said that the air of suspicion still revolves around Cheney and his office.

McClellan said that the suspicion is still there because of many unanswered questions. However, he said that Bush probably did not have any knowledge. But Cheney is a different story.

Also, McClellan said that the White House is still trying to cover it up.
