Jammu & Kashmir
Call it over smartness in polity or apprehension about bad experiences to be the fortune in future. “NC keeps options on alliance open, says Rana” speaks volumes about what NC has in its kitty after surveying ground reality in Jammu region in particular and in entire state in general.
Given that Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad and Saifu-u-Din Soz despite factional difference have decided to go at their own in the coming assembly election in state, legendary political heavy weight of National Conference (NC), Mr Devender Singh Rana has kept his doors open for alliance still.
Reality, according to political pundits, is that Congress has been victim of corruption, scandals and misuse of power by its alliance partners due which it has lost recently held state assembly election in four states. They opined that Congress and its alliance partners across the country would have to face debacle but still Congress manages keep its upper hand in some states where the coalition partners are either inexperienced or weak.
The statements of compromise by Jammu regional head of NC would not only dent its images but would also demoralize the workers and activists, one of vice president level workers said on the conditions of anonymity. He said that even when there was not question of election the workers and office bearers were maltreated by ministers and power holders.
Citing example of encroaching a piece of land by two brother at the banks of Tawi, he said that worker of NC failed to get permission to construct a room while as other brother worker with some other regional political party constructed two storied complex without any hindrance. He said that power holders have though about their profits and had left party in lurch in the time of need and now when the election are at head they are talking about representation and secularism.
Under these observation parties should retrospect their selves instead of falling pray to opportunistic politics. As, the voters had become educated due to unaccountability and lenient approach towards their mission by these so called political stalwarts.
