Adbee Markaz Kamraz organises humorous mushaira

Jammu, Srinagar, January 28, (Scoop News)-Adbee Markaz Kamraz (AMK) today organised a literary event in collaboration with Doordarshan Kendra Srinagar at the studios of the Kendra in which a humorous mushaira was organised and two books released. Member Parliament Sharief–ud-Din Shariq was chief guest while as Muhammad Shafi Pandit presided over the function.
“Nigah-e-noor” a Na’at collection in Urdu of Late Noor-ud-din Noor was released on the occasion which has been compiled by Farooq Shaheen. Another book released was “Tchhat vun Aare” poetic collection of Ghulam Mohi-U-Din Shilzari.
Speaking on the occasion, Sharief –Ud-Din Shariq stressed the need to promote and preserve Kashmiri language and literature. “Mother tongue is the cornerstone of the edifice of the very identity of any nation. If we have to preserve the centuries old Kashmiri civilization, we should protect Kashmiri language,” he maintained. Lauding the role of AMK in its efforts to promote and preserve Kashmiri language and literature, Shariq said the literary organisation should be supported by the government in its endeavours.
Asking to popularise Kashmiri language through various means, Muhammad Shafi Pandit suggested that the sign boards and road signals should be written in Kashmiri alongwith Urdu and English. “There is a need to apply Kashmiri language in our day to day life which will not only make more relevance but encourage children and youngsters to read and write it,” he emphasised.
Earlier in his welcome address, AMK President Dr Aziz Hajni underscored the need to promote all genres of literature. Noting that AMK is not biased towards any other language, he said the organisation has been patronising the writers of other languages including Urdu and English. He announced that beginning with today’s humorous mushaira, AMK has proposals to organise a series of mushairas of various kinds in future.
In his vote of thanks, Director Doordarshan, Shabir Mujahid emphasised the need to explore the possibilities of promoting and popularising Kashmiri language beyond literature. “Kashmiri is a rich language which offers huge possibilities for popularising it through various literary and non-literary means,” he observed.
The event was attended by a galaxy of poets and writers who were enthralled by the humorous recitations of the poets. The poets who participated in today’s mushaira are: Ayub Sabir, Yousuf Gulshan, Sharif-U-Din Parwaz, Nisar Budgami, Rafeeq Ishbari, Shad Dardpuri, Muzaffar Dilbar, Muhammad Yousuf Miskeen, Manzoor Ahmad Manzoor, Hameed Ashfaq, Mehtab Manzoor and Amin Ashraf.
Noted theatre person Muhammad Amin Bhat conducted the proceedings.
