Minneapolis Minnesota. ESPN reports the Minnesota Vikings are likely to end their relationship with their running back Adrian Peterson this season.
Peterson is currently not allowed to be with the Vikings football team after he has been charged by a grand jury in Texas a few weeks ago for child abuse after he corrected his four year son with a wooden switch earlier this year.
The reason the Vikings are likely to release Peterson from their roster is because his reputation in the Twin Cities has taken a severe beating by the media and sports fans around the nation.
Peterson make get his wish to continue his football career with a team in his home state of Texas. National Football Commissioner Roger Goodell who has taken a beating from special interest groups over his handling of the Ray Rice incident where a video from TMZ Sports showed Ray hitting his then girlfriend and now wife Janay in the face with a punch from his left hand that sent her to dreamland is likely to discipline Peterson under the personal conduct policy rules of the league.
Peterson insists he did not mean to harm his four year son when he corrected him by hitting him a wooden branch. The four year old boy had bruises on his body. What really angers some people is that the media builds up there sports stars as superheroes. When the sports star makes an error, his reputation takes a severe hit.
Peterson will have to work very hard to regain the trust of the sports media and fans if he can avoid jail time on the child abuse charges. One person at a time.
