Adrian Peterson wants to retire with the Minnesota Vikings

Minneapolis Minnesota. On Thursday Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson, 29, admits he had a chat with Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones this year. In an attempt to calm the Vikings fan base, Peterson has expressed his desire to finish his career with the only team he has played since he made his debut in the National Football League in 2007 when he was drafted  in the first round by the Minnesota Vikings out of the University of Oklahoma.

Peterson signed a seven year, $96 million dollar contract in 2011. Peterson will become a free agent at the end of the 2017 football season.

Peterson realizes the sobering truth that playing in the National Football League is a business. It is likely that Peterson will likely remain with the Vikings until his contract expires in 2017.

The reason Peterson would like to play for the Dallas Cowboys is because Peterson is a native of Palestine Texas. Peterson would like to play for a team in his home state. It remains to be seen if that will come true before Peterson retires from the game of professional football.

It is possible that the National Football League will be investigating if Jerry Jones by talking to Peterson while he is under contract with the Vikings could be considered tampering.

Jones does not believe talking to Peterson by telephone about playing for his football team while Peterson is under contract with the Vikings is tampering since he believes he just had a casual conversation with Vikings star running back.
