Amongst African-American women voters let alone African-American voters, a recent poll taken says that Hillary Clinton is having an increased lead over her chief rival Barack Obama in the Democratic Primaries. The polls said that amongst black registered Democrats, Hillary Clinton has a lead over Barack Obama by fifty-three percent to thirty-three percent. That would mean that Clinton has a twenty-percent lead over Obama in terms of the Democratic base whom are African-American.
That’s a slight increase of percentage for Hillary Clinton since April when a poll taken that month said she had a fifty-three over thirty-six percent lead on Barack Obama. The biggest support of African-Americans to Clinton comes from African-American women. They stated that Hillary Clinton would be their strongest choice. However, African-American men said they were split between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama.
Black Democrats seemed to be more sure of themselves while it’s stated that White voters seemed to be more open to persuasion. Almost half said they were definite about who they would vote for. Slightly a little over half said they could be open to changing their minds when it’s time to vote for the candidate to represent the Democratic Party. Almost half said the same thing when it’s time to vote for a Republican candidate.
This further reveals that the nation’s vote let alone the Democratic election votes aren’t only by ethnicity but by gender.
“Black women don’t just vote their identity,” says CNN political analyst Bill Schneider. He further ads, “They also vote their identity as women.”
“The ‘sistah’ vote is paying off handsomely for Hillary Clinton,” states Donna Brazile who is a Democratic political strategist and most common guest on CNN. She also adds, “It’s not only getting her the women’s vote. It’s also getting her the black vote.”
At the moment, it would look as if things are going strong for Hillary Clinton as she’s gaining both the women vote and the black vote. However, other rivals say that it’s still a long way until the primary elections. While Hillary Clinton has a strong lead over Barack Obama at the moment, things can possibly change within the next few months.
You’ll never know what happens next. Anything can happen from now until the primary elections.
