Mayurbhanj and Balasore districts were the worst effected by the flood water of the Budha Balanga and Baitarani rivers devastated homes and submerged thousands of acres of standing paddy crops, Surya Narayan Patro, Odis.Government has sent Rescue and relief officials to these area.

In the Bay of Bengal this severe tropical cyclone which made landfall on Saturday night near Gopalpur in state’s Ganjam district has left behind vast devastation in several coastal districts of Odisha.The worst hit districts are Ganjam, Puri, Khordal and Gajapati.
In Baripada town,flood water entered into the district headquarters of Mayurbhanj on Sunday and inundated hundreds of houses. Many houses were under five-six feet of water and the residents took shelter on the roof top.
About half of the town is submerged under water. 3,000 people have been evacuated accroding to Mayurbhanj district collector Patil Rajesh Pravakar .
Huge swathe of agriculture lands with crops and houses located in the low laying areas were also submerged in the water in Balasore district.
“We have dispatched a rescue and relief team to the area,” a senior official of the state revenue department said here.
