After Jammu,Rajouri,Curfew imposed in Udhampur,Samba & Kathua also

Jammu, August 11 (Scoop News)-After Jammu,Rajouri, curfew has also been imposed in the Udhampur, Samba and Kathua districts today as a precautionary measure following violence and arson in Kishtwar district.

The state administration has already clamped curfew in Jammu and Rajouri areas to avoid any untoward incident even as situation remains tense in the Kashmir valley.

Curfew was clamped in the midnight tonight in Jammu and Army was called out to maintain law and order.

Army has also been called out in entire City and outskirts especially the sensitive areas, where there were chances of flare up of violence.

Sources said that attempts were made to set ablaze two shops and two vehicles torched in New Plot area of Jammu Saturday late evening.Seven persons, including a a senior police officer, sustained wounds in clashes, cane charge and teargas shelling in Jammu city on Saturday.

According to sources that Curfew was also imposed in Rajouri Udhampur,Samba and Kathua after spreading the arson of communal tension in these areas.Officials said that curfew was imposed as a precautionary measure.

Army personnel patrolling the streets of Jammu and in Rajouri as the local administration advised people to remain indoors and not to violate prohibitory orders.

The government has also suspended the annual Amarnath Yatra from Jammu as a precautionary measure.

Mobile Internet services too have been blocked in Jammu And Kashmir State.

Meanwhile Bandh continues in Kashmir valley on second consecutive day today against communal clashes in Kishtwar.

Normal life remained affected for the second consecutive day today in Valley due to a strike called by hardliner Hurriyat chief Syed Ali Shah Geelani in the wake of communal clashes in Kishtwar. Geelani, who described the situation in Kishtwar town, as “grave” had said “the future course of action will be decided after reviewing the situation in the affected areas.”

Most of the shops, business establishments and petrol pumps across the Valley remained shut. Public transport was off the roads.

Official sources said that the authorities have kept police and paramilitary personnel on the stand-by to meet any eventuality in the city and other vulnerable areas of the Valley.
