After Leh Army assisting in search & rescue at Khonmoh & Balhama in Srinagar

 

 

 

Srinagar, August 11 (Scoop News) -330 families at Khonmoh and Balhama in Srinagar district got affected due to Cloud burst and subsequent flash floods

According to offical staement many houses got damaged during the intervening night of 10/11th August 2010.

Official spokesperson said Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Ms Naseem Lanker had requested army for assisting in the search and rescue. The Commanding Officer RR personally supervised the rescue team at Khonmoh and Major Ibrahim Khan at Balhama.

Spokesperson said the Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Mehraj Ahmed Kakroo personally rushed to the spot alongwith a team of officers comprising of Ghulam Rasool Wani-Tehsildar North Srinagar, Aamir Ali Head Disaster Management Kashmir, Mauzam Bakshi-Dy Chief Warden Civil Defence, GM Parray-Girdawar, Ghulam Jeelani Zargar-Patwari, Mohammed Altaf-Patwari Riazuddin-Patwari, Dr Mehrajuddin Chief Medical Officer Srinagar, Dr Dildar Ahmed District Health Officer Srinagar, Executive Engineer R&B, AEE R&B , AEE PHE, AEE PDD, Dy Director CA&PD Kashmir, Divisional Fire Officer, Mohammed Yusuf SHO Panthachowk.

After preliminary assessment it was found that 290 families at Khonmoh and 40 at Balhama have got affected.

More than 1740 souls at khonmoh and 280 souls at Balhama got affected.

More than 3300 kanals of paddy, orchards, saffron fields got washed away.

285 structures have got damaged at Khonmoh and 33 structures at Balhama.

Divisional Commissioner Kashmir has ordered that relief should be provided to the affected families as per Calamity Relief Rules.
