Agitators protest with violence and shutdown program in Nepal

Kathmandu Nepal: A group of agitators including the cadets of CPN-Maoist, set on fire a commuter bus on Araniko Highway in Kavre’s Dhulikhel for defying their Tamsaling bandh call on sunday.

The vehicle was ablazed by agitators while on route from Melamchi to Kathmandu . No causalities was reported but small confrontations have been reported throughout the nation.

The 33-party alliance led by CPN-Maoist on Monday has enforced bandh(Shutdown) in western and mid western regions for the postponing the Constituent Assembly (CA) polls. Due to the shut down program the Short and long route traffic has been completely halted, while educational institutions and local market areas are shut in Rukum, Salyan, Rolpa, Pyuthan, Gulmi, Arghakhanchi, Palpa, Baglung, Myagdi, Gorkha, Lamjung, Manang, Mustang, Tanahun, Kaski, Parbat, Syangja, Kapilvastu, Rupandehi and Nawalparasi districts, today.

The agitating parties have called today’s bandh demanding the nullification of the March 14 agreement signed by the four major parties, formation of an all-party government, and dissolution of the Regmi-led interim government and postponement of CA polls.
