The Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad who attended the United Nation General Assembly Meeting in New York was invited by University of Columbia to speak before the students and guest. According to the news reports, Ahmadinejad was just too straight in answering questions put before him. But one question called the attention of Ahmadinejad with regards to the issue of homosexuality. The President was quoted, “in Iran we don’t have homosexual like in your country.” And he further avers that “in Iran we do not have this phenomenon.” The audience, mostly students burst into laughter and boos the Iranian President.
In due respect to the Iranian President, maybe he has a point in one way or the other. Religiously speaking, it was God who punished and vanished Sodom and Gomorrah in the face of the earth. If I am correct, the people became too immoral that they engaged in sexual activities that beyond the law of God. Sexual partnership of both men is considered a sin, and so with both women does. And the detestable of all is the issue of bestiality. Here, human is almost out of his mind and deserves an outright condemnation.
But to the ultra liberals and atheists, Ahmadinejad is a villain because they might consider him as undemocratic. Well, of course advocacy group will haul in protest and asserts their individual rights, beliefs etc. But again, are we not repeating history…the history of Sodom and Gomorrah? Look of what happening now. AIDS disease is inflicting damage not only to humans but to the entire world, from politics, economy and the will to survive in this complex world.
And so Mahmoud Ahmadinejad maybe wrong or right about the issue of homosexual, but the thing is; he delivered a message, pronto.
