The Red Ribbon Express(RRE), a special train involved in a massive AIDS awareness campaign developed by the Rajive Gandhi Foundation and implemented by the National AIDS Control Organisation is expected to enter Tamil Nadu at the Katpadi junction on Tuesday and will halt at Chennai Egmore on June 1.
Addressing the press, the Tamil Nadu Chief Secretary L.K.Tripathi said that the train passing through 15 districts in the state will halt at 19 stations from where bus and cycle caravans will travel to 100 villages. The train consisting of educational exhibits and audiovisual presentations on the disease also employs a team of two doctors and four counselors to offer free medical examinations and counsellings.
