Air chief western air command visits forward locations of Jammu

Jammu, November 08 (Scoop News)- Air Marshal DC Kumaria Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Air Command, Indian Air Force visited Air Force Station Jammu today.He was received by Air Commodore Nitin Sathe Air Officer Commanding Air Force Station Jammu along with all other senior officers.

 During his visit, the Air Marshal visited the forward locations of Jammu in order to inspect their operational preparedness. He interacted with officers, Air Warriors, DSC personnel and civilian staff of Air Force Station Jammu. He visited various units and sections and expressed his satisfaction over the way station is being maintained on the operations, maintenance and administrative front. His visit was important as it was to check and assess the operational readiness of Air Force Station Jammu. He expressed his satisfaction at the professionalism of the personnel of Air Force Station Jammu and extolled them to achieve even higher standards in the service of the nation. He also inaugurated the Centralised Internet Access Server (CIAS) facility. This will help in maintaining the information security of the internet browsing system from a single
point.

       The Air Marshal has commanded a frontline Jaguar Squadron specialising in Maritime Strike Role as well as a fighter airbase. He has operational experience of flying all versions of MiG-21 and Jaguar aircraft. He has also functioned as the Principle Director of Concept Studies at Air Headquarters, and as Air-I at Western Air Command. He was the first Assistant Chief of Air Staff Operations (Space) and the first Director General Air (Operations) at Air Headquarters.  Before taking over as the Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Air Command, Air Marshal Kumaria was the Senior Air Staff Officer (SASO) at the South Western Air Command at Gandhinagar.
