Jammu, October 14 (Scoop News) –The Air Vice Marshal Jasbir Walia visited the various units and sections and expressed his satisfaction over the way station is being maintained in operations, maintenance and administrative front.
He was received by Air Commodore Nitin Sathe Air Officer Commanding Air Force Station Jammu along with all other senior officers. During his visit, the Air Marshal interacted with officers, Air Warriors, DSC personnel and civilian staff of Air Force Station Jammu.
Jasbir Walia is the overall commander of all the IAF assets and operations of J & K state including the Siachen Glacier-the highest battle field in the world.
He also visited the various units and sections and expressed his satisfaction over the way station is being maintained in operations, maintenance and administrative front.
His visit was important as it was to check and assess the operational readiness of Air Force Station Jammu. He expressed his satisfaction at the professionalism of the personnel of Air Force Station Jammu and extolled them to achieve even higher standards in the service of the nation.
He also laid the foundation stone of Married Accommodation Project (MAP) quarters which will provide new and better family accommodation for Officers, Warrant Officers and other ranks. To boost the morale of the troops he also witnessed a keenly contested volley ball match.
AVM Jasbir Walia holds high reputation as an officer and a gentleman.
He has commanded a flying unit, a premier air base and has served in various appointments including Deputy Commandant in College of Air Warfare and Air Attaché to USA.
