I first heard about the group of elite Al-Qaida spy hunters back in February 2009 and have been monitoring them ever since. They are called "Ittehad-e-Mujahideen Khorasan" and they have spread fear and panic in Pakistan’s north-western tribal district of North Waziristan. Their mission: "to spot and kill spies as the US intensified drone attacks in Pakistan’s seven tribal districts, where Taliban and al-Qaeda have bases."
They are usually dressed in black and carrying AK-47 assault rifles and operate in small cells or units under the direction of a district manager.
They routinely kidnap people off the street, accuse them of being spies and torture them until they confess. In one case they brutally beat a man, then released him with numerous broken bones and holes "drilled" into his feet. They threatened this particular individual with execution if he did not admit that he was a US spy providing information that led CIA-operated unmanned aircraft to their targets, this went on for 15 days.
So far the terrorist group has executed up to 250 people on "charges of espionage". These are just the ones we know about.
They are looking specifically for agents among the local population who then identify and locate the targets and guide the missiles fired from the drones with equipment that is supplied to them clandestingly by the CIA. They target operatives who work as part of a group or network of agents and operatives who provide intelligence information by way of the location of the suspected al-Qaida target through "satellite phones" to CIA stations in Afghanistan (and Pakistan) and the information is then relayed to the drone operators, according to Taliban sources and Pakistani intelligence officials.
"Ittehad-e-Mujahideen Khorasan" desperately wants to break the spy network by eliminating the suspected agents in a way that creates fear and anxiety among the local population. In a way it is also PSY-OP’s al-Qaida style.
With its headquarters somewhere in the Machikhel area of Mirali sub-district in North Waziristan, the anti-spy al-Qaida militia is primarily an offshoot of the Jihad Islamic Union (JIU), which itself is a faction of the larger Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan movement.
It is being ran by Saudi nationals working in conjuction with Pakistani rogue ISI agents.
The current head of Ittehad-e-Mujahideen Khorasan is a 35-year-old Saudi, known locally by the alias "Mufti Abdul Jabbar".
No known picture of him has been obtained as of yet…
ONE OF THE MOST DANGEROUS MEN ON EARTH
Jabbar came to North Waziristan in 2002, and has learned the local customs and language. He is considered one of the most dangerous men on earth in terms of counter intelligence operations against the United States military overseas.
He has been the subject of elabortate online internet and key word searches. I have personally hunted information about Jabbar for 2.5 years myself and gotten precious little information. It’s much like chasing a ghost in many respects.
Even among U.S. spies operating in Afghanistan and Pakistan he is not that well known.
The al-Qaeda Khorasan group does distribute pamphlets from time to time, vowing that they would bring every ‘enemy of Islam to justice’ and warned that the group could adopt any means, even those that deviated from its ‘customary approach,’ to achieve its objectives. I saw one recently via an email from a soldiers in Afghanistan, who wished not to be identified, who said: "These bastards are the ones who spread night letters and cause panic among local tribesmen, who are so scared they won’t even talk to us."
As far as I am aware no one in the U.S. Army is even delegated with the responsibility to tracking information on this man (Mufti Abdul Jabbar).
Which is one reason why I decided to profile him in this story, as well introduce this shadowy group "Ittehad-e-Mujahideen Khorasan" to the world.
I also get enough requests for information from troops in Afghanistan to convince me that not enough is being done to target or deal with this particular group.
"Ittehad-e-Mujahideen Khorasan" is said to "freelance" for the Haqqani network and Laskar -e tiba…
It is clear this group of spy killers and thugs must be stopped!
