Leh, November 23(Scoop News)- The first ALUYA T-20 Cup was lifted by Mitra Cricket team defeating Friends Sporting Club by 22 runs at historic polo ground Leh today. Organized for the first time in off season, the tournament was participated by 7 teams.
Earlier, in the morning, Mitra team won the toss and elected to bat first and scored 180 runs in their stipulated 20 over. Chasing the target, Friends club lost their all wickets in last over scouring 158 runs only.
The Chief Executive Councilor LAHDC, Leh Rigzin Spalbar who was chief guest on the final mach addressing a huge gathering of youths appreciated ALUYA for organising such tournament in off season which provides a good platform for youths to share their views and showcase their sport talent. He reiterate that Govt. can’t provide job for all, and therefore, the educated youth of Leh district must know the reality and change their mind set for self employment which has greater scope and better business potential with vast entrepreneurship loan schemes through various financial institutions and urged youths to avail these facilities assuring LAHDC’s full support. He further said that it is a high time to change the attitude of youths who stare only for easy jobs or jump dirtily on big business overlooking vast employment opportunities. He also urged ALUYA to guide unemployed youths of Ladakh for their livelihood in different fields assured Council’s utmost support.
Besides large number of audience, Additional SP, Leh Tashi Gyalpo, DSP, Headquarter, Abdul Khaliq, DSP Dechen Sonam, President Taxi Union, Leh Nawang Tsering and other police officers witnessed the final match.
