Provisions
One can also buy ration at fair prices from the specially established Govt. Depots at Chandanwari, Sheshnag and Panjtarni. Numerous teashops and small restaurants can be of great relief. However, pilgrims are advised to carry with them biscuits, toffees, tinned food etc. to cater to their immediate needs. Firewood or gas can be obtained at Chandanwari, Sheshnag, Panjtarni and near the Cave.
Insurance
Please get yourself insured, in your own interest, before leaving for the yatra.
Accommodation
Insulated huts andtentsare installed during the yatra. However these are paid facilities.
Registration
Get a registration done about a month ahead of the date fixed for the commencement of Yatra.

Please ensure that you are physically and mentally fit to perform the journey. As the Yatra involves trekking at an altitude of 14,800 ft, do have yourself medically examined and certified for the journey and keep the medical certificate handy for examination by the registering authority. |

Do carry some eatables like biscuits, candy, milk powder, sugar, assorted dry fruits, honey and some tinned food with you. Also carry a water bottle, plastic plate, tumbler, spoons etc. |

Ration and fire wood quota has been especially arranged for you at all stations enroute, against payment. |

Make sure that the ponywalla, the labouror, the dandiwalla is properly registered and carries a token. You can get these allotted at fixed rates by competent authority at the base camp Baltal/Nunwan (Pahalgam. |

Do ensure that ponies carrying your luggage and eatables etc remain with you all the time, if you let them remain behind you are likely to be unnecessarily inconvenienced. |

Do observe discipline on the track and keep on moving slowly and steadily. Adhere to the instructions issued by the Yatra Officer from time to time. The officials of the SASB, Police, Tourism, Health, Food and Supplies and other Departments are there to help you to perform the journey comfortably. |

Do carry sufficient money to pay for your accommodation at base base camps and at other stations enroute to the |

All medical facilities during the Yatra are free. However, do carry your personal medical kit also. |

Carrying/Use of alcohol enroute the yatra is strictly prohibited. |

Use latrines / bathrooms in camps erected by Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board. |

Use dustbins for garbage disposal. |
|
|
Cash offerings should be put in donation boxes of Shrine Board only. |

Do show consideration to old, woman and children at track. |
|
|
Immediately report at Medical Camps in case of sickness. |

Avail facility of prefab huts and hot water supply of SASB at various camps at nominal rates. |

Carry sun lotion / sunscreen and use extensively during yatra. |

Do not touch or tamper with Holy Lingam and / or place or throw anything on the Holy Lingam. |

Do not overstrain on steep gradients. |
|
|
Do not relax at points where there are warning notices. |
|
|
Do not break traffic disciplines or try to overtake others in difficult stretches of the route. |
|
|
Do not carry pay more than the prices fixed for porters, ponies, dandies, rations, fire wood, accommodation etc. |
|
|
Do not use polythene, disposable plastic sheets during yatra. |
|
|
Do not pay more for Helicopter service than the rates displayed. |
|
|
Don’t stay overnight at Holy cave as there is a danger to life due to low oxygen. |

Don’t stop in land slide areas enroute. |
|
|
Do not use flash cameras inside Cave. |
|
|
Do not light Agarbatties or Dhoop inside cave. |
|
|
Do not defecate in open. Use portable latrines setup by SASB. |

Do not pollute rivers and streams. |
|
|
Do not walk on the edges of track. Be on the hill side always. |

Do not enter the Sanctum Sanctorum with shoes. |
