Jammu, January 21, (Scoop News)- In the meeting of the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB) held on 20thJanuary, 2014 under the Chairmanship of N.N. Vohra, Governor of J&K, the Board approved the existing Compulsory Health Certificate without any change for Yatra 2014.
Giving further details, Navin K. Choudhary, CEO, SASB informed that the format of Compulsory Health Certificate has been uploaded on the website of the Shrine Board which can be easily printed by an intending pilgrim. The Compulsory Health Certificate (CHC) can be issued only by Doctors or Medical Institutions who have been designated by the respective State Governments and Union Territories. All State Governments and UTs in the country have been requested to publicize the list of Doctors / Medical Institutions who are authorized to issue CHCs in their respective jurisdictions. The lists of authorised Doctors so far received from the State Governments and Union Territories are placed on the website of the Board. The list is being regularly updated as further information is received from States and UTs.
CEO stated that only a CHC which has been issued after 1st February, 2014 will be considered valid for Yatra registration purpose and, further, the existing restriction of persons below the age of 13 years or above the age of 75 years and women with six weeks pregnancy not being allowed to undertake this arduous Yatra will continue.
The Governor has written to all Chief Ministers and Administrators of UTs in the country to expedite the list of Doctors and Medical Institutions which will be authorized to issue CHCs. He has also requested the Chief Ministers and Administrators of UTs to ensure that the CHC is issued free of cost and in a hassle free manner to the intending pilgrims. The CEO is following up the Governor’s letter with the State Governments and Union Territories to secure timely results.
