4 stone pelters arrested for extortion

Srinagar, March 8 (Scoop News)-Some miscreants pelted stones on an Ambulance of Langate hospital at Palhallan, Pattan, in the jurisdiction of Police Pattan, resulting in damage to the vehicle and injuries to driver of the vehicle,Police said in a statement.

According to Police while chasing the miscreants five persons including three policemen received minor injuries. Police has registered a case in this regard.

In another stone pelting incident in Ganderbal, one civilian was injured last evening.

Miscreants pelted stones on civilian vehicle near Wayil, in the jurisdiction of Police Ganderbal. One civilian was injured when stone pelters pelted stones on his car he was travelling. The injured was shifted to hospital for treatment.

 

4 stone pelters arrested for extortion.:

 

Police Control Room Sopore received a call from a citizen that after withdrawal of Security Forces from the area  some stone pelters have blocked the road near Chankhan bridge and are pelting stones on civilian vehicles. They were threatening the people boarding their cars and extorting money from them by threat and intimidation. They were collecting Rs 100 to Rs 500 from the car owners depending upon the model and make of the car. Thereafter police rushed there and arrested 2 stone pelters on spot while as others fled away from the spot. Upon their identification 2 more stone pelters were later arrested from their homes while as some of them are still at large and they too will be arrested shortly. Case FIR No 22/2013 under section 382,336,341 RPC, has been registered in Police Station Tarzu(Amargarh) Sopore and further investigation into the matter is going on.
