America Mourns Tragedy in Newtown, Connecticut

People throughout the world are saddened by the instant deaths of 20 children and 8 adults who were killed by a senseless killing in Newtown, Connecticut yesterday. The shooter had to have been suffering from a mental disorder to have committed such a ruthless act against innocent children and adults.

I cannot imagine the pain and the suffering all the families are going through as they grieve the loss of their young children and for those who lost either a Mother, a Dad, a wife, a husband, an adult sibling or a loved one.

Death of a loved one can reduce the strongest minded person to be the weakest one struggling to hang on during their loss. We’re praying for each one of you to receive the strength and encouragement required for you to be able to sensibly cope with your terrible loss.

I sit throughout yesterday and all of last evening in a fog because I felt helpless and unable to soothe the need of those who were suffering and hurting during their great losses. The sadness within is unbearable and I’m praying these words of comfort will ease their hearts and souls.

Here are some Bible verses I believe will offer you some peace and comfort during this darkest time :

1. In Jeremiah 31: 13 the Bible says, "For I will turn their mourning into joy, and I will comfort them, and make them rejoice from their sorrow."

2. In Ecclesiastes 3: 1 – 4 the Bible says, "To every thing there is a season, and a time for every purpose under the heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; a time weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance.

3. In Romans 14: 8 the Bible tells us, "For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die we are the Lord’s."

4. In Psalm 23 the Bible says, "The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lied down in green pastures: he led me beside the still waters. He restores my soul: he leads me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me."
