In the minds of most voters, the state of the economy was the major issue. US Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney has referred to his own experience in the business world as an asset when it comes to fixing the economy.
But, fellow and rival US Republican presidential hopeful John McCain gave the argument that while Romney is able to run an investment company is an accomplishment, it is not the right answer to the economic crisis in America.
“America is looking for leaders, not managers,” John McCain said this morning throwing a jab to Mitt Romney. It would look as if McCain threw a jab calling Romney a manager and not a leader.
“We hire managers all the time,” the Arizona senator said. He then added: “Leadership is people who inspire. People like Ronald Reagan, people like Gen. [David] Petraeus. Leadership is people who have had the hands on experience and the patriotism and service to the country and the nation, putting all else behind love and service to the country. Leadership is the ability to inspire and the ability to make Americans serve causes greater than their self interests.”
“I know how to lead and inspire,” McCain added.
In front of a crowd in Pensacola, Romney fired back at McCain.
Currently, McCain and Romney are fighting for the top spot in the most recent polls of Florida prelude to Tuesday’s GOP primary.
