Srinagar, July 07 (Scoop News)- Awami Mutahida Mahaz (AMM) on Monday expressed deep disappointment over weird silence maintained by Prime Minister Narindera Modi during his recent visit over a range of burning issues being faced by the people in Jammu and Kashmir.

Referring to political activities that are presently being carried ahead of the assembly elections in the state, the meeting expressed concern over excessive politicking that has taken toll of developmental plans and their implementation.

The meeting was attended by its convener Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami, Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen, Sheikh Abdul Rehman, Abdul Rashid Kabuli, Abdul Rehman Tukroo, Syed Ayoub and Khalid Tufail.
The AMM leaders expressed deep concern over the inertia in administration and said that over three months of the current financial year have passed and there is no movement in the developmental agencies and almost every sector is in deep slumber.

The meeting also stressed on the government to address shortage of essential commodities in far flung areas of the state especially in Valley. Public issues have taken a back seat and price rise is adding to the sufferings of the people.

The meeting also demanded an early disbursement of compensation to affected farmers against damages caused to their crop due to inclement weather.
The meeting also demanded speedy disposal of damaged electricity transformers to villages that are continuously reeling under perpetual darkness. While expressing dismay over the delay in release of youth who have been booked under charges of stone pelting, the AMM leaders demanded release of political detainees and said that unnecessary curbs and intolerance towards dissent would prove counterproductive.
