Srinagar, June 19, ( Scoop News)-A day long convention of Awami Muttahida Mahaz (AMM) was held today in Srinagar, which was attended by hundreds of delegates from across the district. The convention was presided over by M Y Tarigami and addressed by other senior leaders of the Mahaz. Ishtiyaq Qadri conducted the proceedings of the convention.

Abdul Rashid Kabuli senior leader of AMM and Ex MP made an emotional appeal to the people of Srinagar to come forward and fight unitedly for restoration of age old pristine glory and dignity of this historic city. He said that Srinagar has been victimized due to vested interest of successive governments and the people subjected to suffer. The sufferings, miseries and the long pending issues are haunting the minds of the city; he added and said that the only solution lies in united struggle for seeking legitimate rights.
Abdul Rehman Tukroo Ex MLC, Shiekh Abdul Rashid, Sayed Ayoob and youth leader Jan Mohd Dar also addressed the convention and urged upon the youth to be instrumental for such a policy formulation which can guarantee jobs and social security to them. AMM is the right forum for the youth to get politically empowered and strengthen this new political alternative.
M Y Tarigami said that AMM is pledged to work for an alternative which not only can provide solution to the long pending problems but dignity and respect to the people, who have been suffering for no fault of theirs. We firmly believe the future of people of J&K lies only in the unity and not in the division of the state. He urged GoI to talk seriously with Pakistan for resolution of the vexed issues including Kashmir. “All shades of opinion in the state including the dissent voices be engaged in a result oriented dialogue for moving forward to resolve this long pending problem.”
At the end of the convention a political resolution was moved and adopted unanimously demanding restoration of Article 370 to its original form, implementation of recommendations of working groups, employment package for youth, withdrawal of cases against detained youth, restoration of water bodies, rejuvenation of handicrafts, handlooms and other domestic industries.
