Former Chicago-area NBC reporter Amy Jacobson has sued the Chicago-area CBS affiliate for damages related to a video CBS publicized in which Amy Jacobson is seen in a bikini and towel.
The video in question was filmed at the house of Craig Stebic, a Plainfield, Illinois man who has been in the news because his estranged wife has been missing for over a year. Amy Jacobson claims that she and her children were at the Stebic house on an invitation from Craig Stebic’s sister to talk and enjoy the family pool.
In her suit, Amy Jacobson claims that, before this incident, she was one of the most highly respected journalists in the area. The video, she says, was aired with intent to boost CBS’s sagging ratings and to undermine her legitimacy as a reporter by portraying her in an unprofessional light. The lawsuit asks for over $1 million.
