During examination mostly students fail to care a about thier health.This is because of Long hours of studies and anxiety about performing well in exams.
As students of class XII from the tricity take the board examinations from March 2, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) advises students to take the right kind of food and maintain thier healthliving for better exam results.
Quoting a study conducted by National Institute of Nutrition Hyderabad, a CBSE booklet which deals with board exams states that proper nutrition helps in managing examination stress and helps in maintaining alertness during examinations. The booklet also suggested that students and parents should not depend on any drugs or medicines which boost memory power.
There exists a strong relationship between nutrient intake and the mental state of a person. It has been proved that good nutrition ensures smooth functioning of the nervous system which normally gets strained during examination.
To boost the student memory power the best option is to ensure a balanced diet with includes a lot of green leafy vegetables and fruits that supply necessary vitamins and minerals. They also suggested that students should go for physical activities or exercise in the form of sports. This is because studying for long hours without a break will increase the stress level and because of that concentration levels come down.
Taking short breaks helps in refocus. However, these breaks should not be too long .
Moreover they advised students to maintain adequate sleep routine that helps them to feel fresher and to learn more. . A regular seven-hour sleep is vital for the body to function well.
