An young woman committed suicide by jumping in Chitral River.
CHITRAL: A young woman jumped in Chitral River and committed suicides. According to SHO police station Ayun a young woman who is telling an abnormal lady committed suicides by jumping in Chitral River. Police told this scribe that wife of Haji Akbar resident of Gahan Ayun village having some mental and psycho problem she jumped in Chitral River and committed suicides. Hence local volunteers recovered her dead body from the river and were handed over to her relatives. Who was laid to rest at Gahan Ayun village. She left two small children. Reasons behind this suicide case are telling abnormality of the woman.
Longest load shedding of 24 hours lamented.
CHITRAL: Peshawar electricity Supply Company (Pesco) exercising continues load shedding from 16 to 30 hours in different areas of Chitral. Pesco line staff removing links of different transformers especially Balach, Met Colony, Civil Aviation Colony etc and disconnecting power supply for 16 to 30 hours continuously. They reconnect it after two days. Although people of Chitral have requested them to exercise load shedding for 2 to 4 hours turn by turn in different areas but Pesco staff pretext that in this routine they will face some difficulties. An elder consumer of the area Haji Ghulam Hussain said that Pesco line staff remove links of transformers and disconnect electricity for more than 24 hours and exercising continue load shedding which is totally immoral, injustice and illegal. Some consumers alleged that WAPDA staffs have benefit of 200 free units monthly but they exceeding their limits and spending thousands of units free of cost. They said that there are 2 power houses of Sarhad Hydro Development Organizations and some 7.5 mega watt power is generating by private sector through AKRSP as well as Chitral having the potential of 4500 megawatt of power generation but even than these people facing 30 hours continue load shedding. They demanded from Federal Minister of Water and Power, Chairman Wapda and chief Executive PESCO Muhammad Wali Khan to direct Pesco Chitral staff to retrain from 30 hours continue load shedding and direct them to provide/release electricity supply after 2 to 4 hours loads sheeding.
