CBS affiliate anchorman Larry Mendte has been fired for spying on his colleague Alycia Lane at KYW-TV (CBS3), a Philadelphia station. The spying revelation came following an FBI investigation. According to the FBI, Larry Mendte, who anchors the nightly news from 6pm to 11pm, read hundreds of Alycia Lane’s Yahoo! emails.
Larry Mendte has been removed from his role while the FBI continues their investigation of his role. There are suspicians that Larry Mendte was leaking Alycia’s emails to the media.
It’s actually Alycia Lane who has received the most press attention lately. Alycia Lane is no longer an employee at the station if it was revealed that she assaulted a female police officer in New York by calling her a "dyke bitch" and sent nearly naked pictures of herself to sports anchor Rick Eisen, who shares an email account with his wife.
The New York Post covered the controversy about Alycia Lane, but never stated the source. Now gossip blogs are wondering if Larry Mendte was behind it.

Larry Mendte was never charged or accused of "stalking." Evidence supports his claim that Lane was upset when he spurned her advances. His wife saw emails from flirtatious emails from Lane and Mendte then cut off the relationship. Lane attempted to get him fired and that was when Mendte looked at her email to find out what was going on. It was wrong, but not worth a federal investigation. That should be the bigger story. Does the FBI regularly get involved in a workplace feud? Or did no disgraced Congressman Pat Meehan, back when he was US Attorney, want the publicity? I think you know the answer. If this happened to Mendte, it could happen to you. Mendte should be pardoned.
