Boot throwing is now rampant in India. Congress leader Naveen Jindal faced boot thrown by a retired school teacher in an election rally in Kurukshetra in protest against policy of the Congress. Naveen is the second Congress leader in this category followed by Indian Home Minister P Chidambaram.
It is also commonly perceived that boot attack on Indian leaders may change the equation on current on going general election. Poor policy by leaders, apathy from administration and internal fight among interested groups cause perennial damage to solve common people’s problems. Political leaders in India, after being chosen, just ignore all the pool promises. When the election time comes, they again promise to do everything. If there is question, why you failed in the last five years to fulfill any of your promises that made in last election campaign, the straight answer is opposition parties block their policies.
Just afar the Chidambaram episode, Congress dropped Jagdish Tytler and Sajjan Kumar as candidates only to pacify Sikh community. This action of Congess is temporary and only to gain some political mileage.
From these incidents one can’t say that Indian democracy is kicked. This is a very hard-fact connotation to reach at the conclusion.
