It appears the Phoenix area is suffering from a rash of sex crimes committed by teachers. So far, there have been seven arrests total, and nearly half of them have been female.
The latest arrest involves Jennifer Dianne Malley, a teacher and cheerleading coach at Paradise Valley High School. Authorities claim Malley had sex with a 16-year-old student dozens of times.
Principle Cara Herkamp sent a letter to the parents of the students claiming she had heard rumors concerning contact between Malley and a student.
Unfortunately, this has not proven to be an isolated incident. So far this year, four other arrests have taken place for sexual misconduct, and two of them were also women. That is on top of two arrests occuring last year after the school year started.
Police are still looking for information concerning the case, and would like anyone who has any information to call (602) 534-2121.
