Jammu, October 03 (Scoop News)-“Not content with the loss caused to the life and properties of the minority communities on August 9, 2013 by subversives, certain anti-national forces have started harassing and implicating innocent youth to create a Kashmir like situation in Kishtwar district by causing religious cleansing,” said BJP National Executive Member Dr. Nirmal Singh while addressing a press conference today in the party headquarters alongwith Senior BJP leader Prof. Hari Om, State Secretary & Prabhari Kishtwar Munish Sharma, Mother of Ajay Kumar, Smt. Tara Devi, who was shifted to Jammu Medical College Hospital in serious condition and his sister Bavita Devi “Action against the undesirable element in the local civil and police administration, if not taken immediately, would cause tension in the area which would not be in the best interest of the people and the state”, he also said. He said that the DIG, the Dy SP and certain members of the SIT were responsible for all the disturbing developments in Kishtwar and the situation in the affected area would improve only if these biased officers with communal approach are transferred.
Dr. Nirmal Singh said that the manner in which certain members of the special investigating team and Kishtwar police tortured Ajay Kumar for seven days for no reason whatsoever suggest official bias towards the minority community, which has been boldly witnessing militant onslaughts since 1990 and defeating the anti-India forces. He disclosed that not just Ajay Kumar, who is minor, but many others like him are being targeted and forced to either accept that they were responsible for the Kishtwar violence or they should name others belonging to the minority community so that they are booked. He contested the claim of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah that Kishtwar violence was the outcome of an international conspiracy and said that it was none other than his own colleagues Taj Mohi-ud-Din who during the all parties meeting in Kishtwar said that “what happened in Kishtwar was the brain child of anti national forces committed to separating Kishwar district from Jammu and integrate it into Kashmir so that Greater Kashmir is formed”.
Dr. Nirmal Singh warned the state government that BJP and other nationalist forces would be constrained to take recourse to the agitational approach if the required steps are not taken immediately by the administration to restore confidence of the minority community in the administration. He expressed grave concern over the manner in which the vindictive and biased authorities have started implicating even certain members of the VDCs, who have played a remarkable role in combating militancy and maintain peace in the region. “Such a policy will only provoke protests in Jammu province”, he said.
Addressing media persons, highly disturbed Babita narrated the whole story relating to the torture and merciless beating of his 16 year old brother by members of Special Investigating Team appealed to the government through reporters that state government must ensure that her brother is not harassed again and his family members are saved from the undesirable elements in the local civil and police administration. She said that even in the GMC Hospital about 15 police men including lady constable have been deployed around his bed to terrorize him and bar him from revealing as to what exactly was done to him by the police. Ajay Kumar’s mother Tara Devi, who appeared quite shattered and wrecked, said that she would face the official bias with courage as the entire minority community is at the back and call of her family in this hour of difficulty. She also urged the concerned authorities to direct the local authorities in Kishtwar to desist from falsely implicating innocent youth.
