The Election Commission on Wednesday announced that byelections to four Lok Sabha and 18 Assembly seats in the state will be held on May 29, setting off the most fiercely contested bypolls. TRS representatives had resigned from four Lok Sabha and 16 Assembly seats necessitating the byelections. Bypolls will also be held at Khairatabad in the city and Terlam in Vizianagaram district where the sitting MLAs had died. Counting of votes will take place on June 1.The 18 Assembly seats where bypolls will be held are Terlam, Khairatabad, Jadcherla, Vikarabad (SC), Musheerabad, Secunderabad, Siddipet, Dommat, Ramayampet, Yellareddey, Dichpalli, Khanapur (ST), Myadaram (SC), Huzura-bad, Kamalapur, Cheriyal, Ghanpur (SC), Alair (SC). The four Lok Sabha seats are Karimnagar, Hanam-konda, Warangal and Adilabad. With the announcement of the poll schedule, the code of conduct came into force in all Telangana districts except Khammam and in Vizianagaram district
