Release of lady prisoner demanded.
CHITRAL: Prominent social worker and Human Rights Activist Engineer Temour Shah Program Coordinator of Rural Community Development Program (RCDP), Member Child Right Committee and SPARC while briefing local journalist at CRC office expressed his great concern over arresting of a lady by local police and the person who was alleged blamed with her was not arrested by police which is injustice. According to detail Program coordinator of RCDP and member child right committee Engineer Temour Shah visited district Prison (Jail) Chitral along with member Board of Director of Legal Awareness Program for Human Rights Chitral who also meet a lady prisoner. They inquired about juvenile prisoners in district Jail. During their Jail visit lady prisoner Bibi Hajira wept for justice before them and cried for her innocent and youngest children who were not allowed to meet their mother. She said that there was a land dispute between my husband and his brother She said my husband has gone outside while my brother in law blamed me under a conspiracy with a man namely Sadiq son of Sultan of Kosht of my village. My brother in law also lodged FIR against me under section PPC 457/18 ZO and I was arrested by local police.
She said I have two kids my youngest son is 2 years old while the second one is only 4 years old but they are also not allow to meet me in jail during my stay since 29th August. She cried for her children and said that I am innocent and was alleged only for land. After hearing the statement of lady prisoner Engineer Temour Shah termed it totally human rights violation. It was also revealed that police did not arrest the person who was allegedly blamed with this lady until now. The alleged person is employee of Chitral Scouts in this regard District Police Officer Chitral Sher Akbar Khan said in response of a question that he had already approached to Commandant Chitral Scouts to hand over the accused person to be arrest by local police but action is still awaited. Engineer Temour Shah expressed his great concern over the local journalists that this human rights violation case was not highlighted in media by them as well as the organization who working for Women Empowerment also did nothing for this lady. He appeal to Chief Justice Peshawar High court to conduct Judicial Inquiry in this case, early releasing on bail of this lady and also appealed for implementation of Women Protection Bill in Chitral and Malakand Division to protect women folk in bail able cases.
It is worth to mention here that Bibi Hajira was arrested by police station Mulkoh under FIR No. 63 dated 29.8.2008. Her bail application was rejected by Civil Judge Booni and was sent to Jail on Judicial Remand now her case is under process in the court of Additional District & Session Judge Chitral for bail. Earlier that a group of Human Rights activist under supervision of Niaz Ali Shah Project Coordinator of Human Rights also had visited district jail and meet the lady prisoner who also streamline their efforts for releasing of Bibi Hajira and hand over her children.
