So far, Proposition 8 is pretty much one of the hottest campaigns taking place within the state of California. Should Proposition 8 end up passing, there will be a state constitution that bans same-sex marriage in California. It was only but a few months ago that same-sex marriages were legalized.
So far, opponents of gay marriage have been pouring in mad sums of cash in support for Proposition 8. As a counter-balance, supporters of gay marriage have poured in mad sums of cash in opposition for Proposition 8. This results in Proposition 8 being one of the costliest campaigns.
It has also been revealed that some publicly traded companies are pledging money to fight against Proposition 8. Yes, there are companies taking part in the fight against Proposition 8.
Most should already know what Apple Inc. is. For those that do not know, Apple Inc. is responsible for the creation of the iMac, the iBook, the iPod, and the iPhone. Most of us should already be familiar with such goodies that come out from Apple Inc.
So far, Apple Inc. is pledging $100K to fight Proposition 8. Its pledge has been made public for the most part. It its press release on the website, the company explains that it is one of the first companies in California to offer equal rights and benefits to same-sex partners of employees.
Apple Inc. insists that this is more of a civil rights issue.
Apple Inc. is not alone. So far other companies such as Levi-Strauss and Google are pledging to fight against Proposition 8.
