Are some countries justified to reluctantly accept United States of Africa?

Reports from journalists who covered the African Union Summit in Libya indicate that there was a heated debate on the issue of United States of Africa as some were reluctant to accept this union.

Earlier before the summit, some Southern African countries openly said this was a hurried decision.

The flooding of economic refugees in countries like Britain, Spain, South Africa in Africa as well as United States is an indication why some citizens of some nations are reluctant.

According to reports  in  2000, some Arab countries were reluctant to accept this union because they were not ready to accept economic refugees in their countries.

South Africa uses its cargo planes to transport foreigners to their countries of origin every week and uses a lot of resources for the exercise.

Most South Africans are not happy to see foreigners getting jobs, which they can easily do.

According to a report on crime broadcast on ETV on 5th July at 19.00GMT, foreigners contribute to almost half of the crimes committed in South Africa.

Malawi, a country in Southern Africa bordering Zambia to the west and Mozambique to the east and south, complains that foreigners steal cars and sell them somewhere else after conniving with the local criminals.

But are economic refugees criminals? No, not all. Some are very genuine. They bring in innovations and many discoveries. However, few notice their contributions. However, many countries do not want foreigners. They feel they are benefiting at their expense.

Unless the attitude of looking at immigrants is changed, the advocates of United States of Africa will have an uphill task.
