On Tuesday, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) named Larry McElroy Jr., 43, of northern Pulaski County as a suspect in a incident involving an attempted breach of security at an Air Force Base in Arkansas who was shot as he attempted to gain access to the base.
The FBI released a written statement saying that McElroy had no “ties to terrorism,” and agents have not yet determined a clear motive.
This resulted in the base going on lock down.

As of Tuesday morning, McElroy was in critical condition at UAMS Medical Center. The FBI has said it believes McElroy acted alone and is aware of his past history.
The federal investigation is ongoing. A review of the record indicate the suspect in this case had a history of paranoid thoughts. Specifically McElroy believed Air Force officials had planted listening devices in his home.
