After the cold war was doused off in the aftermath of the tearing down of the Berlin Wall and the subsequent disintegration of Soviet Union, arms race finally came to a halt. Military buildup was relegated to the backseat as world leaders started to develop confidence building measures. It was in the early 90’s when opposing nations started to bring their acts together by patching up differences and gradually cementing diplomatic ties.
Back to the future, the rhetoric of old is trying to interrupt the understanding and cooperation of all nations because of different views and interests. The new demographic alliances formally changed the peace and instability of the world. In this regard, powerful nations started to re-develop their military prowess with the latest technology ready to be used at any given time.
In the US of A, where high tech military hardware is being used, presented to the world its powerful bomb, they called it the “Mother of All Bombs.” But that was years ago. The recent news report has it that the US invention is no match to the new Russian bomb. The Russian invention, according to the report, is the most powerful non-nuclear bomb and they called it the “dad of all bombs.” Scary but true.
While in Asia, the nuclear armed China is silently developing its military might and thousands of missiles are pointed towards its tiny neighbor, and that is Taiwan. Again it’s scary because the sleeping giant/dragon has awakened. China is allied with Russia’s Putin and the world will be seeing a tag team that is too powerful to deal with.
This recent development will open a new chapter of arms race and we will be expecting a new kind of conflict that the whole world has never been seen before. The US and its allies should prepare to meet the challenges of the 21st century and police the world with dexterity and precision.
