Army Goodwill volley-ball tournament inaugrated in bandipora
Bandipora/19 oct:TO Increase civilian-army contact in Kashmir valley when whole kashmir is protesting against human roghts abuses allegdly by army and demand revocation of special powers to Army(AFSPA), an inter village volley ball tournament was inaugurated on Tuesday here in north Kashmir Bandipora district.
The tournament would be played among 8 teams from various parts of the district. The event is being organized 3-Madras brigade.
The tournament was inaugurated by Chief Education officer Bandipora Ghulam Muhammad Dar in presence of Brigadier 81 mount brigade Kamp Raj S and other senior citizens and senior sportsmen of the district in Aloosa higher secondary. On the occasion brigadier Kamp Raj said “The Army is highly thankful to the sportsmen of the area who are cooperating with the army in conducting friendly and goodwill ventures in the area. ”
“We are here for the peace and development of the area by conducting peaceful relations with the people” added Brigadier Kamp Raj who has also been awarded Sena Medal, while addressing audiences. He also affirmed that games play a major role in maintaining peace, prosperity and unity in a nation and developing sportsmanship.
Chief Education officer Bandipora Ghulam Muhammad Dar appreciated the role of the army in conducting the tournament. He said, “Such tournaments prove highly beneficial for our youths in gaining sports experience”
The inaugural match was played between Malangam and kaloosa which was won by Malangam.
Among other dignitaries present on the occasion were Col 3 madras col Mohit Seth and let col manish Mehta
