Jammu, March 28, (Scoop News)-Army jawan injured in heavy exchange of fire between militants & security forces in Jammu after hijacking the vehicle, the gunmen attacked an Army camp near Janglote in the same district where a gunfight started between them and security personnel, Police spokesman said.
Earlier Friday morning militants in army fatigue attacked a jeep on Jammu-Punjab national Highway at Tarnah Nahhala Bridge in Dayalachak, Kathua killed one person and injured three others on Friday.
Report said that in the attack and the ensuing encounter, four people, including two militants, one Army jawan and one civilian were killed.
Earlier militants in army fatigue attacked a private vehicle on Jammu Punjab national Highway at Tarnah Nahhala Bridge in Dayalachak, Kathua, opened fire at the occupants, who were on their way to Gurdaspur, killed one and injured three others and carjacked the vehicle along with driver Taraseem Singh. The vehicle was carrying five persons including the driver. Out of this Ajit Ram, a resident of Vijaypur in Jammu, was declared brought dead by the Government Medical College Hospital while other three including Kamaljeet Singh, Gurpreet Singh and Santokh Singh were being treated.
Heavy firing between the two sides is going on and a jawan has been injured.
After carjacking the vehicle, the gunmen attacked an Army camp near Janglote in the same district, triggering a heavy exchange of fire between the two sides. Two terrorists have been killed in the encounter. Meanwhile, an Army jawan, injured in the firing, has succumbed to his injuries.
Janglote is an artillery rocket regiment and the camp is a off the highway. The terrorists are heavily armed and are throwing grenades at the camp.
They are carrying automatic weapons. Nearly 700 soldiers are present in the Army camp in Kathua.
According to reports, three-four terrorists carried out the attack. The terrorists are said to have been intercepted.
The Jammu-Punjab border has been sealed and heavy security has been deployed. The police have sounded a high alert across the state.
