Srinagar June, 15 (Scoop News) –: To ensure smooth and hassle free Mela(Festival) of Khir Bhawani, Minister for Revenue Relief and Rehabilitation, Raman Bhalla today visited Tulmulla and took stock of the arrangements being made for the purpose. He directed for putting in place all arrangements by 17th has large number of devotees from across the country are expected to arrive Tulmulla to pay obeisance at the shrine. Deputy Commissioner briefed the Minister about the arrangements made by various departments. She said that in view of the large number of devotees arrangements for accommodation, sanitation and cleanliness have been put in place and added that in case of inclement weather alternate accommodation arrangements have also been made for the devotees. She said local people have also extended whole hearted support for the smooth conduct of pilgrimage in the Valley and added that her department has arranged blankets for the visiting devotees.
Health and Medical Education Department will organize a health camp from 16th to 20th June, besides adequate stocks of life saving medicines, X-Ray, ECG, besides ambulance services will be made available for providing medicare facilities to the visiting devotees.
Sufficient stocks of food grains, sugar, k-oil and LPG cylinders have been stocked within the shrine premises to cater the requirements of the devotees and PDD Department has ensured uninterrupted power supply during the Mela period and has placed Gen-sets as an alternate arrangement, the Minister was informed while elaborate arrangements for providing potable water during the Mela period have been made, besides 100 public posts have been installed to cater the requirements of large number of devotees. Two stationery water tankers with 10,000 gallons capacity have also been kept available.
It was also given out in the meeting that tourism department has arranged 5000 blankets to facilitate the visiting devotees. In addition, to the Dharmarath Trust who have arranged sufficient number of blankets, besides pitching of 20 tents for accommodating the visiting devotees. Fire and Emergency Department has also arranged two fire tenders during the Mela period to meet any eventuality. Free langers will also be arranged by the Army, Civil Secretariat and Nagdandi organizations respectively on the occasion.
Elaborate Security, regulation of traffic and parking slot arrangements have also been made during the Mela period.
Meanwhile the Chairman, Jammu & Kashmir Dharmarth Trust, Dr. Karan Singh today visited Khir Bhawani temple in Tulmulla and took stock of the arrangements made for the 3 days Khir Bhawani Mela, starting from June 17.
The Chairman on the spot issued directions to the functionaries of the Trust posted at Tulmulla to ensure full proof arrangements for the devotees and directed them that there should be no complaint from any devotee while performing Puja. He also asked them to ensure un-interrupted safe drinking water, electricity & sanitation etc.
