After a very successful preseason show entitled WORKS ON PAPER, the Eastport begins its 28th season on May 31 with shows for both members and non-members.
LIGHT, the first of five shows to be held throughout the season, will feature work by members with the concept of light as subject or as inspiration for the artists’ work. The annual OPEN SHOW will also begin on May 31st. Members of the community may submit work in any medium and with a theme of their own choosing. Submissions must be ready to hang and be brought to the Gallery no later than Thursday, May 28.
The opening reception this season will be held on Saturday, June 7. Everyone is cordially invited to join in celebrating the Gallery’s 28th year.
The tradition of one- person shows will continue with presentations by Arthur Cadieux, Cheryl Kurtz, Patricia Music, and Peesh McClanahan.
SHORT TALKS AT NOON, a very popular feature of the Gallery season, will be offered again this summer. The public is invited to hear talks on the process of making art. The “talks” which have become increasingly well attended, are offered without charge.
One of the most attractive events on the summer calendar is PAINT EASTPORT DAY, scheduled for Saturday, August 30. Artists of any age may submit work in any medium for exhibit and auction.
The Eastport Gallery’s 28th summer promises to be a very full and exciting one as members look forward to presenting their work and celebrating the “art spirit” with the community.
