Two pamphlets are being distributed by Taliban in Tull Tehsil of Hangu district. The pamphlets contain warnings for NGO’s to stop their activities immediately in Tull. CD and Video Center owners are directed in this pamphlet to immediately close their shops. Local elders are warned to abstain from making decisions in Jirga contrary to Islamic Sharia–if not, five-hunderd rupee notes will be sent to them as a fee for their own coffin cloth. It’s a warning that if they do not abstain from their activities they will be killed by Taliban.
After the conclusion of an agreement between the government of Pakistan and Utaman Zai tribe people in Waziristan, Taliban have entered in Tull Tehsil of Hangu, through the border area of Chapri Waziristan and Speen Tull villages which are situated on border of Tull and Meer Ali area of Waziristan. Talibans of Afghan origin and all other nationalities are seen in Tull and its adjacent areas, and members among them are well equipped with grenades and Klashinkoves. "The provincial government of NWFP has issued written directives to NGO’s working in Dalan, Chapri Waziristan and Zargari areas of Hangu district to abstain from their activities and stop all their operations," said President of Darsamand Welfare Organization Mr Waqar Ahmed.
"[There is a] great deal of pressure on customers coming out from Video and CD shops in Kohat, they are threatening and chasing customers. These are the Taliban methods to stop them from buying movies," said an eyewitness. "Taliban of Afghan origin are living within posh areas of Kohat. in Paracha Town Kohat two Afghan families are residing in brick houses and more then thirteen families are residing in mud houses, both families living in brick houses often receive a good number of guests. Afghans of Taliban origin come and hold meetings in home of Imranullah an Afghan living in a brick house in Paracha Town," residents of Paracha Town have said. "Most of their guests are their relatives and recorded speaches heard by guests of Mr Imranullah are speeches of Maulana Bijli Ghar," policeman Mr Naqeeb has said.
"A complaint against Mr Imranullah was launched with Rescue 15 police in Kohat by his neighbour, when children of Imranullah Afghan severely bit his son on his cheek. Brothers of Imranullah and his father tried to forcefully capture the home of their Pakistani neigbour. Rescue 15 policemen came and have taken Imranullah’s father to the police station. He was released after few hours, and no action was taken against Afghan family, though refugees by law can stay only in camps, in case of criminal activity they can be arrested and forced to live in camps," a neighbour of Imranullah said.
