The Asian Group including Sri Lanka has expressed their support towards United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki Moon on his bid to elect for the second term of his post.
The Asian Group has unanimously decided to support Ban Ki Moon for appointing as UN Secretary General for the second five year term from January 2012 .As the UN Secretary General Post is uncontested this time the UN Security Council is due to meet and endorse him before the General Assembly meets and endorse him in September
