My daughter heard an African-American man at Bread Alone (a café) in Woodstock, New York, talking to his friend on a cellphone. "Don’t read the Bible," the man told his friend, dismissively. There was a pause, while he listened.
"I believe you; I just don’t believe it," the man said.
Finally, in exasperation, the man told his friend: "I’ve got a book for you. I’ve got a book for you. It’s Horton Hears a Who by Dr. Seuss!"
