The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court will pronounce the verdict over the disputed Ayodhya title suit on September 30 at 3.30 PM.The Supreme Court on Tuesday (September 28) dismissed the plea for deferment of the verdict over the 60-year-old Ramjanambhoomi-Babri Masjid title suit.Ram Janmabhoomi is a small piece of land in the North Indian city of Ayodhya which is believed to be the birthplace of the Lord Rama by the Hindus. Before 1528, a famous temple stood at this disputed site. In 1528, the temple was demolished on the orders of Muslim invader Babur and a mosque was built on its place. This mosque was known as the Babri Masjid. On December 6 1992, the Babri Masjid was demolished by Hindu fundamentalists.Riots that followed the demolition of the mosque killed hundreds of people.
Infact, trouble started when idols of Lord Rama were placed inside the Babri Mosque. Both Hindus and Muslims claim their rights on the land.Gopal Singh Visharad, Nirmohi Akhara, the Uttar Pradesh Sunni Waqf Board and Ram Lalla Virajman are the main parties to the title dispute, which has dragged on for the last sixty years. The Archaeological Survey of India had carried out excavations at the site following court orders and found the remains of temple beneath the site. But, the Sunni Waqf Board challenged the findings.
