Australian Police Arrested The Chief Suspect Of The Acid Thrown Incident Against Sri Lankan Students

Australian Police today arrested the Chief Suspect of the Acid Thrown Incident  over the two Sri Lankan Students reside in Sydney happened in last May .The Suspect is a 25 year old Amathepan Srikanthraja a resident of Giraween Area.He was arrested after he himself arrived to the Marrylands Police Station on  request of the Police.

The Suspect will charged on attempting Murder and Ilegal Home Invasion Police Sources said.

Around Five People including the arrested Suspect broken into the Residence of two Sri Lankan Students Jayasri Watawala(22) and Chathurika Weerasinha(27) of the Sydney West on the night of 17th of May and thrown Acid on them.The two students suffering from serious burns and were admitted to the Hospital. One of them is broken his ankle during the attack.Now are they are recovering from the injuries according to the Police.

Australian Police are continueing the Investigations to arrest other Suspects of the Incident and also investigating to find out whether the   brawl between  Sinhalese and Tamil Communities in Auatralia over the defeeting of LTTE led this incident.
