An Australian who had an encounter with a shark was saved from its jaws by a lifeguard at Middleton Beach in Southern Australia on Saturday.
A shark belived to be a’ great white’ and measuring about 16 foot in length caught the left leg of Mr.Jason Cull during his swimming. He struggled with the beast and tried to relieve himself poking on one of its eyes, but was saved only when a thoughful lifeguard, Joanne Lucas leapt into the water to save him.
Mr.Cull now undergoing treatment in a hospital and reported to be progressing well recalled the incident by saying that he saw a shadow in the water but took to be a dolphin. This wrong judgement resulted in risking his life.
According to the beach officials, swimmers on Saturday had reported sighting atleast three sharks which may include the one under refernce.
The incdent resulted in the Beach Authorities closing and cordoning the Beach.
