Poetry From Barbara Kasey Smith’s World
Autumn, ah autumn…
a season filled with splendor delights
offers the eyes beauty and colorful sights.
Oranges, reds, yellows and greens
fill the soul with magnificent dreams.
Autumn, ah autumn…
grandeur astounds to enjoy displays
piles of vibrant leaves lure children to play
under a blue sky spotted with contrasting clouds
causes a viewer sensations of feeling proud.
Autumn, ah autumn…
emitting aroma’s explode in the air
pumpkins spotted in fields here and there
haystacks of heaped cornstalks stand in fields
offers a painter’s canvas to capture an oil so real.
Autumn, ah autumn…
ending of life displayed before observer’s eyes
waits in anticipation for spring to arrive.
Autumn, ah autumn season of colors
causes a viewer’s heart to beat in flutter.
