Every year, the Teachers Association for Western Classical Music in karnataka, hold an event for the ‘High Acheivers’ of the ABRSM and TGL music exams held in Bangalore.
This year the event was held in the newly constructed auditorium of St. Marks Cathedral. With a hall teaming with friends, teachers, parents and grandparents of the high acheiving students, the atmosphere was one of expectancy and cheer.
The young performers were asked to play (or sing) one piece each and were given their award and certificate.
Among the high acheivers, Jasiel (jaz as he is known) stood out as an out standing performer. All of 11 years, Jaz won the Philomena Thambuchetty Award for the best violinist (Senior). As he played his piece – Allemanda, by Antonio Vivaldi – one could easily see why.
The Teachers Association for Western Classical Music in karnataka needs to be commended for conducting this yearly event that so many people eagerly look forward to.
