“I am sleeping more than four hours  these days”, Azad told reporters in Jammu .

Azad bared his heart for the first time   in media and also claimed that when he was chief minister he could barely catch four hour sleep. These days i am learning to sleep for more than four hours.” This is happening for the first time  in my life and i am enjoying every bit of it, Azad said in response to a question.

Making several other startling revelations   on camera Azad, for the first time also claimed that when he was chief minister he worked on behalf of several congress ministers as well and focused his attention on all round development of the state in all spheres of life.

While talking to reporters Azad said, "i  worked for more than 20 hours a day and had no time to trumpet my achievements unlike my predecessors".

I prepared projects myself keeping in view aspirations of people belonging to all three regions, went to New Delhi for their approval and brought money, came back and executed the projects, monitored their progress, held review meetings and some times even worked on behalf of those congress ministers who asked for my help.

Azad said while  he was busy doing all this as per his committment he got little time to propagte his own  achivements. He added in the same vein, there was no body in my camp who could drumbeat my achievements.

"I worked tirelessly and made sincere efforts to remove the disparity  between the three regions and also worked on behalf of congress ministers who were less capable and sought my help".

Taking a dig at the PDP ministers Azad said,  "i brought several projects to the state for all the ministeries.Large amount was sanctioned but the PDP ministers never worked out projects. They sat on those projects and the money was lapsed.

"They  only did propaganda without carrying out works on the ground. On the contrary we toiled hard and did not care much about the publicity".

He counted his acheivements as head of the congress-PDP alliance govt and tried to project his image as saviour of  the state.

"When i took over as chief minister  i made sincere efforts to fulfil all those committment made in the Common Minimum programme drafted in 2002. He said I was the first chief minister in the last three decades who belonged to Jammu region.I implemented and went ahead of wazir commission report when i  announced four new districts for Jammu region. My govt set up Finance commission and was all ready too introduce amendment bill on delimitation but had to  withdraw it under  certain circunstances as  few political parties did not supported me,he clarified.Setting his eyes on the Assembly elections he said he is ready to  face the people of the state and is banking on their support on the basis of his past performance  in the state.
